Richmond Court House To Warsaw

Richmond Court House changed to Warsaw due to “widespread sympathy for the Polish struggle for freedom, climaxed by great uprisings in and around Old World Warsaw” (Ryland). The change was officially recorded in the Record of Appointment of Postmasters, Oct. 1789–1832 with the brief notation “Chang. to Warsaw 12th Jan. 1832.”
